Khanom Golden Beach Hotel ★★★★

Comfortable bed, nice views and location. Great beach. Breakfast staff were nice.

Terrible shower, takes ages for hot water to come then nozzle sprayed water everywhere but in the shower. Bathroom floor was constantly wet from leaking toilet. Hotel needs a lot of maintenance and is showing it's age but was cheap enough to be passable. Don't bother with the Bar and Grill restaurant we found it slow disappointing and left hungry.

Aircon was so noisy is was impossible to sleep and the room was very hot without the aircon. Very uncomfortable night. Cockroaches in the bathroom on the 3rd floor.. Nothing nearby must have transport to check out the local restaurants.

Only minor. Old air con unit nt great, but worked. Shower OK, but fixed shower head was not high enough for comfort for anyone over 5 foot 8 inches. Please note that these are minor problems and the only things I could find that were not 100% .

Hotel is well located next to the beach and easy to travel to highlight areas in Khanom. Breakfast and Staff services were ok.

The hotel is quite old, room has some smell at first entry.

This is the Shining’s Overlook hotel set on the beach. I half expected to find creepy twin girls roaming the hallway. This place was brutal...and I’m a backpacker so my standards are, well, backpacker. I’m not sure if other people have stayed in the hotel this century because the place was seemingly deserted and didn’t show any signs of life. (We may have been the only guests). I get the sense the management have done zilch to improve the standards over the last few decades as the place was literally falling apart. The advertised amenities were non-existent, closed, and or were in terrible condition. (ie spa, games room, swimming pool, etc), the dining room was closed for dinner, and the lights in the hallways were turned off (to save a few bucks I’m guessing). Truth be told, we were duped by the advertising, which made the place seem lively and entertaining. Not the case at all. We were the victims of incredible false advertising. We changed rooms three times before we had one that met our request of having 2 beds and didn’t smell of the 90’s. Needless to say, we checked out after one night. To make matters worse, they attempted to overcharge us for the room. Ugh. It’s location on the beach could have been its one good point, however, their section of the beach was filthy with garbage. Make an effort people! Grab a rake and a rubbish bag! At least the Overlook had Jack & Wendy Torrence maintaining the property. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere...anywhere else!

Right on the beach, with a very nice swimming pool and very nice, caring staff. Breakfast is in the hotel, other meals you can have in the redtsurant at the beach. The rooms have nice balconies with a view of the ocean.

Right on the beach. The hotel was not busy so they gave me an upgrade to a better room, which is always appreciated. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Always greeted us every morning with a smile and asked how we were. Restaurant staff were excellent and the breakfast was first rate.

Nothing just keep doing what your doing

The hotel is clean even though it is old. If you are seeking for the calm and quietness. The wifi was okay.

My bf and I didn't have a good sleep during the first night. We woke up because of the dream about witches at the same time. We went to the spirit house in the next morning to pray as we thought it might help. Haunted!

We were there during low season. So, not sure that all of our great service would be the same with a full house. But we were more than satisfied with the service and facilities! The breakfast were not the huge buffet that many hotels of this size generally have, but there were never more than 10 to 15 people staying, while we were there. So, would be foolish to put out a huge spread! We could order anything to be prepared exactly as we would like, and we were never told "no" to any request! All areas of service during our 4 day stay were excellent! If there was a level higher than excellent, that would be my rating! But as I mentioned before, I don't know how the service would be if the hotel was full, with 100 plus patrons. We are very happy with everything and would return if ever in that area again. The place has a lot of good things to talk about, the pool, the beach, a good restaurant beside...

The place is very far from the center and it’s very expensive to arrive there... The hotel would offer a transportation from Surat Thani or at least have some transportation company working for them to reach the place... It’s not worth to the traveler spent more money to reach the hotel than the hotel fee...

The regular hotel with no wow effect. Would check in this hotel next time and would recommend it to friends. Amazing sea view!

Would not rate as 4 stars - there were no hairdryer, toothbrushes and bathrobes. No safe box and no light in the cupboard. There was a bottle of whiskey, but no whiskey glasses and no ice provided. Noisy aircon.

Great location if you want a nice relaxing time by a beautiful beach away from the tourist areas of Thailand. Hotel is nice, clean and staff very helpful. Only downside is that it is a bit isolated and without transport the beach is the way to go to walk to other hotels/restaurants.

When not many guests the breakfast can be limited in choices.

Nice view if you can get a sea front room.

Std room rate is for 2 small beds. 1 large be is a chargeable upgrade. The gym smells like old socks and the equipment is barely or not functional. The aircon unit is loud.

Visited during low season and hotel was very quiet which we liked. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The balcony gave views of the sea and mountains..The pool area had sufficient sunbeds and umbrellas.

Excessive charges to rent bicycle or pool inflatable.
